Kris McCormick CAC
Ms. McCormick is a California Certified Asbestos Consultant with over 23 years of experience performing and managing a variety of environmental and industrial hygiene projects. She has been the senior project manager for numerous Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, indoor air quality studies, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, mold investigations and abatement projects.
Ms. McCormick has worked with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as a substantial variety of public and private clients. In addition, she has experience in analyzing air samples, Operations and Maintenance training, asbestos and lead abatement project design including specifications preparation, abatement monitoring, environmental audits, and preparing Hazardous Materials Business Plans.
Primary areas of responsibility for Ms. McCormick have included the following:
- Senior project and client manager to a joint venture with two major real estate investment firms in the complete abatement of asbestos and lead-containing building materials for a three building, 20 floor site in San Francisco, California. Abatement was conducted in an expedited fashion and completed in six months. Responsible for conducting the pre-demolition survey, abatement design and specification, bid solicitation, and abatement oversight monitoring;
- Senior project and contract manager to a major utility district in Northern California. Provided project environmental oversight during large-scale, asbestos-containing roof enclosure projects at multiple reservoir sites. Designed and supervised various soil remediation projects for numerous reservoir properties. Coordinated and supervised all subcontractors associated with the contract. Performed environmental safety and work procedures inspections. Collected and interpreted all industrial hygiene associated samples and laboratory data;
- Master environmental consultant to a large school district in the San Francisco Bay Area. Performed and managed numerous hazardous materials surveys for planned renovations or demolition of all district schools. Developed and implemented environmental policies, procedures, and hazard communication associated with asbestos, lead, polychlorinated biphenyls, underground storage tanks, soil, and indoor air quality including mold. Created an internal grading system for other environmental vendors and consultants. Conducted awareness training to school district personnel on environmental procedures; and
- Senior project manager for legionella in drinking water investigation and remedial action in Class A high-rise office complex in downtown San Francisco, California. Conducted air and water sampling for legionella and recommended remedial actions subsequent to the discovery of legionella bacteria in both the industrial and potable water systems at the properties. Developed and implemented a long-term water system management program.
