PES was initially retained on this project to provide a Phase I ESA for this automobile dealership which was being purchased by one automobile dealer from another. The results of the Phase I documented the presence of unpermitted USTs, a waste oil tank, an oil-water separator and leach field, hydraulic lifts, and hazardous waste storage areas that appeared to require further investigation. PES’ subsequently conducted a soil and groundwater investigation to determine the extent of contamination from hydrocarbons and other contaminants, evaluating and selecting remedial alternatives, preparing the remedial design, preparing contractor bidding packages, and providing construction management services during remediation. Remediation consisted of removal of the USTs and other facilities, excavation and offsite removal of contaminated soil, re-paving the site, and groundwater monitoring.
