Project team members have managed the investigation and remediation of approximately 1,000 cubic yards of a sandblast waste/soil mixture containing hazardous concentrations of lead in a planned residential development.
The project included the characterization of lead in the sandblast waste/soil mixture, evaluating remedial alternatives, performing treatability studies, remedial planning and design, providing construction management services, and interfacing with regulatory agencies. Based on the results of these services, the volume of soil requiring management as hazardous waste was reduced to under 100 cubic yards.
